Have you ever had to wait for a bus or a train at the station, and it wasn’t coming early and you knew you were running out of time because you had a deadline? Do you remember the feeling of helplessness as you couldn’t do anything to change the situation? Life is a lot like that sometimes.
This is the second month of the year and I am definite that there are some of us who have been waiting for months for our desires to come to past, and nothing seems to be happening. God sent me a message to you – WAIT.
A lot of us believe in God’s will for our lives but somehow we seem to have our own ideas about how it is going to come to past. There is no dispute that God has a will for us.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope – Jer 29:11
The issue is the execution of this plan. I am very sure Joseph must have had his own idea how he was going to be king someday. This same thing happens to us also. We always seem to fashion out for God how He will accomplish His will in our lives. Unfortunately for us, most times, our design does not fit into God’s plan, and in the process, to us, it appears not to be forthcoming. In the meanwhile, God is actually at work behind the scenes, conforming all things to His own design.
In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will – Eph 1:11b
Most of the time what we perceive as delay is due to the inability of our minds to grasp the dimension of God’s will for our lives. We estimate, we calculate, we measure, based on the limitation of our human frame, thinking that God is limited by the same boundaries as us. God is still the Almighty and His will cannot be denied or delayed. When the powers of this world crucified our Lord Jesus Christ, they thought they had scored a point against God but did not know that they were working according to His ultimate plan and design. The whole sequence of event only makes sense to us after it has occurred. Then a dawning comes upon us as we see the manifestation of His will and that every sequence was designed in bringing it to past.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose – Rom 8: 28S
So brothers and sisters, what you perceive as a delay is not a delay, unless you are the one withholding it. Yes, we can withhold our expectations by our lack of faith or by our confessions. So there may be a need for an examination of what is actually the issue here. God cannot fail. God does not fail. Nothing can stop His will for us. In the event you have expectations that are not yet here by “your” timetable, here is what to do hasten its appearing.
Praise God. There is nothing like a heart that offers praise to God on a continual basis. In praise, your spirit is lifted before the Most High and you catch a glimpse of His glory and splendour. By the time, you get back to this plane you will have no difficulty in believing that He can handle your situation.
Read the promises again. When in doubt and you feel helpless, take the bible, or your notebook and read the promises again. Remind yourself and remind Him too.
Rejoice. Lastly, rejoice in your victory and breakthrough. Rejoice like it has happened. Rejoice! Rejoice, for indeed, it has come!
Grace and Mercy be with you!
