No doubt we all know how important it is to give thanks. This post is not about that. I am just here to remind you to make it intentional, for this one reason – gratitude is the attitude that connects you to your source of supply!
The last statement above is the reason I made it a habit to continously give thanks. I am always looking for things to be grateful for. Now, you don’t have to wait till you have something tangible to be happy about before you express gratitude. Make gratitude a lifestyle. Make it a habit.
Why is this attitude of gratitude so important? Because it puts you in a positive vibration where you attract good things to yourself. And this works because I have experienced it. It’s the code to many of the good things I have experienced in my life. Even when things look bad or it appears I am failing, I still give thanks. I believe this is the reason why people bounce back repeatedly after they fall.
So how can you be intentional about this? Write down ten things you are grateful for, every morning. Don’t stop until you have written those ten things. At first, it may seem hard to complete the list but with some effort, you will definitely find those ten things. And always start with “I am happy and thankful for,” and complete the statement with what you are thankful for. Do this every morning, for the next thirty days and you will begin to see remarkable changes around you.
Now, you shouldn’t do this like an academic exercise. You must be really thankful for those things, from the bottom of your heart. In fact, you could go ahead to dance and sing after you have completed the list. Be joyful about all the items on the list. By doing this, you are telling the universe that you want more of these good things, just like the Yoruba proverb that says, “a child that is grateful for the gift received yesterday will get another one today.” And more of these good things will come.
Now, some people may think they have nothing to be thankful for, especially when they look at all the problems that is confronting them right now. Friend, I know it is very hard but you have to do this. Several years ago, I was stuck on the hospital bed with little hope of making it out alive. This was what kept me going and got me out alive. Your challenges are only as tough as you make them. You are made of a tougher stuff. If you even look back, you will see that you have overcome similar challenges in the past. That’s something to be grateful for. You can go further by being thankful that you will also overcome this current challenge. And you will!
I have to stop now. I look forward to hearing from you regarding some of the positive outcomes you have experienced or are experiencing from practicing this attitude of gratitude. See you at the top!
